“Lucky black cat” and owner saved from storm at sea

A small black pet cat called Sukie and her owner Dave Allison, were rescued by life saving crews from both Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Dave and Sukie the cat were four miles off the Mull of Kintyre at the point that their vessel was hit by gale force eight winds.

The engine stopped, leaving them stranded with winds shaking the yacht from all directions.

Ex Merchant Navy sailor Dave kept Sukie safe in his jumper, whilst calling for help from Belfast Coastguard.
